WHY
YOUR DONATION IS IMPORTANT:
Since 1994, the disAbility
Resource Center has assisted people with disabilities in seeking
independence, and we are now, more than ever, in need of your help
because:
-
Reduced funding (not to
mention inflationary increases) means the possibility of layoffs
with the our increased number of consumers, the same problems,
with fewer staff.
-
Less funding also means
less Community Education and less Advocacy!
Your generous donations
enable the dRC to continue and increase the much needed services to
people with disabilities, their families and community, seeking their independence.

The
disAbility Resource Center believes in community inclusion and a
purposeful life for ALL people with disabilities of all ages.
We’ve helped to modify homes, refurbish wheelchairs, find
housing, advocate for meaningful legislation, and we’ve even
helped kids visit Santa. Many children with disabilities find it
hard to visit Santa at the mall with its noise and crowds, so
the dRC created the North Pole in their office and helped 55
children visit Santa in a quiet but jolly environment. They,
like all other children, had the opportunity to enjoy Santa’s
smile, hugs, and “Ho, ho, ho”.
The dRC, a non-profit
organization, provided free supports, services, and resources to
1,900 people last year. We look forward to our work next year
helping people with disabilities to reach their highest
potential of independence. It is valuable work, and we love
what we do, but it takes money to do it.
We get more and more calls daily and we need your help to
meet those needs.
With the end of the year at
hand, please make a tax-deductible donation to the disAbility
Resource Center. Your donation will be used to, among other
things, buy supplies to repair and sterilize medical equipment,
to modify homes, and, most importantly, to help people with
disabilities to be included in their school, their neighborhood,
and their community. Donations can be made using our website’s
PayPal button or by mailing it the dRC, 409 Progress St.,
Fredericksburg, VA 22401.
Please donate to the dRC and make a
difference to the people that we help every day. |
