Opportunities:
What
a Great Place to Volunteer!
The
disAbility Resource Center has a number of opportunities available for
volunteers to assist in completing the mission of the organization.
These opportunities enable us to serve more people and help the organization
grow. All volunteer efforts are appreciated, no matter how big or
small they may seem, or how long or short a time is given.
Volunteer
opportunities may include:

Building Ramps and other minor home modifications - we provide the guidance

Clerical,
receptionist, copying, filing, data entry and other general office duties
-
Updating
bulletin boards, creating brochures or flyers
-
Building
and grounds maintenance and repair for our office, for the apartments,
and for others with disabilities who need help in their own homes
-
Public
speaking or manning a table or booth at an awareness event
-
Community
or legislative advocacy
-
Project
or activity management, planning or participation
-
Planning
or participating in fundraising events
-
Teaching
hobbies, crafts or skills
- Tutoring
for school work on all levels including GED preparation
-
Peer
counseling, sharing personal interests, or leading a support group

Or
any other interest you might want to share!
Volunteers
are encouraged to come forward with ideas for activities or opportunities
that will be fun and rewarding for all who participate. If you have
